Truckee High School is a rich pool of arts and literary accomplishments, and until now, there has not been a printed way to showcase the artistry of students in the school. This year, students at THS formed a committee to create and publish a new literary magazine for the school, “The Truckee Reverie.”
Showcasing the talent and artistry of THS students, it will be printed in physical copies as well as an online edition to read on-the-go. Riley Killen, the head of the magazine committee, is working with other students to make a product that everyone is proud of. “We’re trying to make a place to showcase student arts and creative writing,” she said.
The theme of this year’s edition is: “change.” This means all submissions should follow this prompt and dive into what “change” means to the artist.
“I feel like there’s not an incredibly big literary and art scene at Truckee High. So we’re trying to make a place for that,” Killen said. “Then also [making] a place where students can read other people’s work and get the validation that comes with seeing your work or art in print.”
The submission form closes on Friday, March 20, 2026, so make sure to get all applications in by that time. After the form closes, the magazine committee will begin compiling all works into printable form for the final product.
