Dawg House, an outdoor venue in Reno located near the University of Nevada, Reno campus, will host its last show this Saturday, November 22. The venue decided to collaborate with Biggest Little Bands, an online collective that strives to promote local music in the Reno area.
The concert is titled “Dawg House’s Last Run” and has a ski theme associated with the gig. They have four bands performing, and seven vendors bringing their products.
The first band is Serendipity, a teen-made band local to the Truckee area. Their genre is indie rock, and they have released a single on all major streaming platforms, titled “Slow Motion”. This band was formed in June of 2024. Their Instagram page is @serendipitybanddd.
The next band is Solar Flora, a shoegaze rock band based in Reno. They have released a multitude of music on all major platforms, with their newest being a single titled “let it spill”. This band has been around since September 2024. Their Instagram page is @solfloora.
Following Solar Flora, the next band is titled SUHNS- a Reno-based band of the alt-rock genre. They have a series of singles and EPs on most music platforms, with the most popular song being “Wintergreen” from their “Sun Said Moon” EP. This band has been releasing music and performing since June 2024. Their Instagram page is @suhns.
Lastly, the final band to perform at this upcoming gig is Honey Plant, another band from Reno, Nevada. They have a funky soul vibe to their music and have been releasing music since 2021, with their earliest song called “Funk is here to stay”. This band has been performing for four years. The Dawg House x Biggest Little Bands gig also has a series of local vendors providing their products at the show. The local vendors include: It’s Dollhouse (secondhand clothing), Earthling Emmalee (art), Starla Maclellan (art), MiaBobiaBeads (jewelry), Compound Coffee (coffee), Beloved Cookie Jar (cookies), and Compound Vintage (secondhand clothing).
Tickets are available on Biggest Little Band’s website. Proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Trauma Intervention Program of Northern Nevada (TIP). This business is volunteer-run and helps “provide emotional first-aid to survivors of tragedy in order to ease their immediate suffering and facilitate their healing and long term recovery” (TIP website)
Opportunities to volunteer and donate are available on the website, along with a multitude of resources. There are also events supporting TIP seen in the “events” section of the website.
Doors for the gig open at 1:00 p.m., and the music will run from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The address isn’t public, but it will be sent in the confirmation email after purchasing tickets. Make sure to free up some time and support local music, bands, and communities this Saturday.
