The Truckee High 2025-2026 Homecoming theme is… BARBIE! With the Homecoming dance being “Dance the Night Away”, the dress-up days are everything Barbie.
Here are the exact dress-up days, and some ideas to show off your school spirit!
Monday, September 29: Barbie Sleepover
Wear your favorite pajamas or cozy clothes! The pinker, the better. If you want to go for an exact Barbie outfit, do a matching set like the Vintage Barbie “Sleepy Time”, or the 1963 Barbie “Pajama Party” pink and mint green two-piece.
Tuesday, September 30: Barbie College / Career Day
Dress up as one of Barbie’s careers, or wear college merch! Wear your dream college’s merch, or what your dream job is! Some specific examples can be the “80s Rewind Career” Barbie, or the 1965 “My Favorite Career Miss Astronaut” Barbie. If you want a specific college Barbie, you can do the special edition 1997 “University of Illinois” cheerleader Barbie.
Wednesday, October 1: Denim Barbie / Cowboy
Dress up in all denim, be a cowboy, or even do both! For the cowboy theme, look at the live-action movie, when Barbie and Ken first come into the real world, or the “Country Look Cowgirl” Barbie from the 1990s. For the denim theme, look at the 1988 Barbie trading card, “The Jeans Look Fashions”.
Thursday, October 2: Pink VS. Black
Although this one is not Barbie-themed, it is still a part of the Homecoming dress-up days. At the Powderpuff game, wear black to support the seniors, and pink to support the juniors. Make sure to come to the game and hear about the homecoming court (and see who wins).
Friday, October 3: Welcome to the Jungle
Dress in animal print or camo, and make sure to bring out the jungle through your clothes. Some specific examples can be the 1988 “Animal Lovin” Barbie, or the 1969 “Leisure Leopard” for animal print ideas, and the “Bootcamp” Barbie or “Paratrooper” Barbie from the 2000s.
Be sure to dress up and show school spirit for the Homecoming week! Also, come to the “Dance the Night Away” Homecoming dance on October 4, from 7-9 PM at the high school!
