Solána Imani Rowe, better known by her stage name, SZA, released SOS Deluxe: LANA, on December 20, 2025 as a continuation of her 2022 album SOS. Her distinct blend of rap, pop, and modern R&B showcase her incredible vocals and thoughtful lyrics, as the listener is transported through yet another emotional roller coaster at the hands of SZA.
With over 81 million monthly listeners and counting on Spotify, SZA continues to produce high quality sounds for her audience to enjoy. Her discography is currently composed of 14 albums, including singles. Here she explores her creativity in mostly emotional tracks chronicling her current and past relationships both with men in her life and herself. In 2018, SZA featured on the Black Panther film soundtrack, highlighting in her song “All the Stars” along with rap legend, Kendrick Lamar.
The partnership in 2018 was not the only time Kendrick Lamar and SZA came together to create an incredible song like “All the Stars”. The two have many collaborations, enough that they are touring together as well as having performed together at this year’s Superbowl Halftime Show. Most notably, their song “luther,” which pairs both of their vocals in an impactful and almost angelic manner, including samples from “If This World Were Mine” by Luther Vandross.
SOS was a stand out album when released in 2022, and was only made better with its deluxe song counterparts. At its release, it notably featured one of SZA’s hit singles, “Kill Bill” which had made its rounds as a viral song on TikTok. The deluxe edition of the album has a run time of 1 hour and 54 minutes. The entire album features 38 songs, 15 of which are part of the deluxe version.
There are so many striking songs on the album, one of which is “What Do I Do”. It’s introduced with a ringing phone and SZA’s filtered vocals. Her singing cadence as well as the intense base completes the semi-serious tone of the song. The chorus and bridge are what makes this song truly shine. “I told you I need honesty, but you want that old me.”
Another highlight of the album is “30 for 30”, with Kendrick Lamar. As always, Kendrick Lamar and SZA make an incredible team. This song puts the spotlight on both of their abilities in a flowy rap and pop mix that leaves a lasting impression. Their ability to mesh their contrasting vibes together is what makes this song so compelling. Along with the outro of the song that brings in new lyrics to the same rhythm.
15 tracks from the beginning of the album, the end of “Saturn” ventures into the rest of SOS, which continues to showcase SZA’s incredible talent. SZA’s other albums need to be celebrated and listened to just as much as SOS and SOS Deluxe: LANA, but these are absolute masterpieces that deserve major recognition. Give these tracks a listen, and begin a journey of incredible music.
