The Giant Slalom Race on January 14th at Diamond Peak ended with impressive results that the Truckee High Ski Team should be immensely proud of. The girl’s team placed first in the race with 393 points overall, while THS boys placed second with 314 points overall.
The girls held a tough position to beat with Caroline Ehrmann, Zoe Carlson, and Koko Bruce, who swept the podium. Alex Close, one of the coaches said, “we also had standout performances from Aspen Hall (5th) and Olive Masterson (11th). On the boys side, Truckee was a little light on racers.” But for the boy’s division, they “had some great runs from sophomore Dominic Bourdeau, who finished fifth, and Campbell Goddard who finished eleventh,” Close said.
So far, the season standings have Incline High School taking first place with 745 points overall. The intense competition within the ski community is apparent at these events and on the mountain. The competition continues to get tougher as only 38 points separates Incline’s lead on Truckee which comes to a total of 707 points.
Congratulations to all of our athletes, continue to make THS proud!
