An undefeated 40 game streak over three years was lost by the Truckee High School Varsity Football team to The SLAM Bulls from Henderson, NV on Tuesday November 26th, after they traveled to Las Vegas for the third year in a row. Both teams worked hard to compete for the title of State Champions, eventually in the last quarter after a tight game, the Wolverines lost by four points to the Bulls. The final score was 34-30.
This was the only game that the Truckee Football lost all season. The playoff game at Allegiant Stadium was tough and highly competitive. Truckee received 10 total penalties with 100 total penalty yards and SLAM had 3 penalties with 25 yards.
The strength and momentum that Truckee had this season was palpable but was unable to be carried into the most important game of the season. They still hold the first spot in 3AA Football Division.
This is SLAM’s first football title in school history. A turnover at 1 minute left in the game from an intercepted pass thrown by senior Quarterback Jace Estabrook helped secure the win for the Bulls.
