Welcome back to school Wolverines! Time to get back into the rhythm of school. Welcome especially to freshmen and new students, we are happy to have you here at THS! Fun summer experiences came and went, getting back to participating in class, being on time
There are so many exciting events and opportunities to be involved in during this school year. From football games to rallies, be ready to bring your school spirit, and show your support, Wolverines!
As summer comes to a close and the school year begins to ramp up again, here are a few tools on how to stay successful during this school year:
Get enough rest and sleep. Teenage brains need lots of time to rest and recover, as well as work through everything they learned during the day. In getting enough sleep, students have better chances at productivity and proficiency in everything they do.
Ask for help! There are plenty of people in the school and community who want to help you. There are endless resources that are available that can help you progress and get the grades and learning that you need and want! Link Crew, Hope Squad, the Wellness center, the Counseling department, Sierra Community House and your peers.
Stay on top of your assignments. Oftentimes the large workload that comes along with being a high school student is daunting, but one simple way to combat this is to stay current on everything that is assigned to you. And, if you are up for the challenge, get ahead on assignments. These last few summer weeks may make it hard to focus and stay inside, but with resilience and ambition, you should be able to be successful.
Be punctual. Getting to school on time is often out of your control, but if you can make sure to leave on time and be at school at 7:25, you are already set up for success. Getting to school late can make you feel scattered and out of routine, and often causes you to miss important information and details in class. Getting to school on time also helps prevent you from running into possible detention.
School is a place to learn, grow and be social. In utilizing every aspect of the community and institution, you have the opportunity to expand as a person and scholar. Have a great year, Truckee High!
