Each day
Each night
A new girl arrives
A warped version of the person who was there to begin with
And each day each night she pushes on shedding her old skin like a caterpillar trying and trying to turn to a butterfly
And yet,
The more she tries the further she appears from her goal,
Something that once was in reach is now barely visible in the horizon
So every night, every day, she sheds her skin,
Subtlety changing her personality
her clothes
her behavior
Over and over and over
Over and over and over
Never satisfied as she looks in the mirror expecting someone else
Anyone else.
